Spanish for Beginners

Update: Mar 20th, 2010
Perhaps you took a course in Spanish when you were in school and had to sit in front of a tape machine that was speaking Spanish to you and then had you repeat the phrase. However, you remember very little of it due to not being able to follow the speaker's mouth movements nor were you able to have written words to learn by either.

So very much has changed now with everyone being able to access the Internet and be able to utilize the newer more modern ways to learn a new language, such as Spanish for beginners. On the Internet, you will notice, there will be English translations for you to see, as well as the Spanish written word as the reader sounds it out for you. No longer will you need to learn a litany of words that would choke the most erudite dictionary writer.

Nor will you have to learn all the various ways and means of tenses and such. You will learn those naturally as most babies learn Spanish instead. With online courses, you may repeat a "class" anytime you desire, you can stop it midway through, and you may advance at a pace that suits you.

Often online you will have native speakers, so that if you are going to Cuba for instance, they will not be speaking Castillian Spanish. You would need that Castillian Spanish if you were going to Spain, not Cuba.

Generally there is a focus on conversational skills. Learning how to say, "See the dog" is not as helpful, for instance, as "what time does the bus come?"

Most people who come to online Spanish for beginners, for instance, are seeking to understand the beginning syllables for example, and performing it online to the computer is much less embarrassing than having to do it in a classroom situation. Many people fear being laughed at for their unwieldy pronunciation of the particular language they are trying to speak, such as speaking Spanish.

However, once you gain a bit of confidence in your Spanish for beginners, you may wish to practice with people who speak Spanish for real. With the advent of long distance calls that may be made right on your computer or a long-distance program that does not charge you by the minute that becomes rather simple. Many people who have learned Spanish for beginners online have graduated to speaking Spanish with online friends, much to the joy of both sides.

Speaking Spanish is one of the easier languages to learn, though Americans are not quite as good as the Spanish in rolling their R's. It's also not as complicated as some languages, such as Mandarin or even French.

Also, one of the benefits of learning and speaking Spanish online is that we can now receive TV in just about any language we prefer via our computer. Having television shows available any time of the night or day, will take you far in understanding Spanish. Always remember, too as you learn speaking Spanish, that Spanish is one of the "romance" languages!
